#IHMEbug

The sunshine, the spring, and the insects are here! Follow the advance of spring with IHME and the Finnish Museum of Natural History, and win a delicious brunch for four!

Have you heard the hum of the spring buzzy bee? And did you know that the earliest brimstone butterflies are already awake in March? To enter the competition share photos or videos of your insect sighting with the hashtag #IHMEötökkä!

What to do:

1. Share a picture or video of an insect on Instagram with the hashtag #IHMEötökkä by the end of May. Also tag @IHMEfestival when sharing your pic or video. If there are people in the image or video, remember to ask their permission to publish it.

2. If you need help with identifying a species, tell us. Professor and insect researcher Jyrki Muona will identify insects in the comments to competition entrants’ shared items.

3. Professor Jyrki Muona will pick the competition winner. First prize is a brunch for four at Korjaamo Bar & Kitchen. On top of that, all entrants’ names will be put into a draw for tickets for Natural History Museum (2 x tickets for four and 3 x tickets for two) and for IHME-ten-years-jubilee tote bags from recycled textiles by Globe Hope. We will contact the winner in person by June 14.

Please note that you can only enter the competition from a public Instagram account. You can submit as many images or videos as you like. By participating you give IHME permission to share your images and videos on the Festival’s communications channels. See the competition rules here.
